Drowsy : Snow on moss on stone (FIN,2006)***'
Just a few songs, like “Bakery” & “Treehouse”-, with guitar/bass and voice, Drowsy expresses a Syd Barrett-solo kind of simplicity with a straight forward acoustic “rock” effect (so not like the depressed songs from Syd). Elsewhere there’s more picking and songs with retrospective calm visions, partly inspired by the Finnish environment and someone’s poetically expressed symbolic place in it. Two other tracks, like the post-psychpop rock “Good Old Odd Gold” and the calm piano outro “Plangent suite” are instrumentals. A few tracks have nice background spherical guitar and some percussion. A very nice, generally calm and moody album.
