Michael Cashmore : The Snow Abides -EP- (UK,2007)****
Michael Cashmore is a long time collaborator of Current 93 since the '80s, responsible for most guitar work since '90s after the departure of Douglas Pearce. He had some solo projects before, between 1994 and 1998, under the name 'Nature and Organisation', and since last year, 2006, under his own name with a full CD, and now this year, with an EP.
The recordings compromise earlier recorded tracks from 1991-2001, are with Anthony on vocals, and with lyrics from David Tibet.
It is an almost classical composition in instrumental and song sections, while the mood-making minimal piano introduces or accompanies the song themes. Here you have Anthony at his best. The last piano piece almost made a loose ending, but with an extra arrangement still made a good conclusion. A memorable CD.
