For a solo release of Efterklang’s singer, you could expect, for a song album, a real song album, but like a drop-out of Efterklang’s latest release, the music is hanging almost completely on its floating drift for which the songs are like depending moods patched onto it, cradle-drummed, sweet guitared, with warm electric piano, softly orchestrated from chord to chord, from start to finish. We’re living in a world where consciousness is surrounded by vagueness and expressions are part of the fashion. Vaguely said this sounds between Portishead and Sigur Ross. Singer Anna Broensted's hushed voice is a breathy earthly angel with a personal strength of something ethereal. Her sadest song, “when your blackening show”, more focused, is like slow jazz motion, with guitar pitches as if from a drifting ship ashore. Also nice are also the ambient drifts on the “anchoring interlude”.
