Gwymon      The Gentle Good : Dawel Disgyn -EP- (UK-WA,2007)***°

It is good to hear there’s more in its pipes of sensitive talented singer/songwriters than Meic Stevens in the 70s in this small area of Wales. This for me is a great promise that will be easily put in the waters of Nick Drakes and early John Martyns, with its distinctive Welsh folk touch, and inevitable influence of its nice and soft tongue language (2 songs of four are in English, the other two in Welsh). A thoughtful beautiful guitar style, bits of glockenspiel on the first track, string & violin touches on the second, and string arrangements on the other two tracks, combined with a beautiful and gentle soul voice, and a bit of second, female wordless airy touches on one track, with inspired songs makes this a perfect and recommended listen.
