Fatcat Rec.Tom Brosseau : Empty houses are lonely (US,2006)***°

Immediately the particular 'gospelblues'-voice aspect of Devendra Banhart's voice comes in mind when listening to the first track on Tom Brosseau’s album, “Fragile Mind”. The inspiration also has its own kind of personal fantasy, which reflects in its own personal kind of gospel-ode code. The music has no loose me-the-hippie-cleverness, but hangs together by different, lonely visions, with its own self-protected country-blues in the heart, (and perhaps the remembrance of old blues and country), with the love memory of a girl, and with an empty house as his home. A lovely album.
