V.A. : We Are All Circling The Stars -2cd- (UK/IRL/US,2007)****
This is one of the best song-compilations I have heard in a very long time. Perhaps it is the taste of the compilers, and it might also be because likeminded souls look for each other, and gravitate towards each other. First of all, there are many honest gentle souls, a category which I prefer to attract as well on my singer-songwriter pages (just like on the psychfolk related pages). Further on there are some collection of bands who have some post-late 60s psychpop association. This leaves us with a handful of bands and singer-songwriters who create an independent sound somewhat in between both categories and float freely and with ease between both these magnets. All of it is far above the average or just sounds very nice like it is. The compilation is done with care and perfection, and it makes also a perfect listen, perhaps even a bit more than how a one group/band/person release would sound well. Very pleasant stuff which will introduce the listener to major and minor important musical talents.
